Wow! I can't belive it has been about a month since I last posted! No wonder my dear friend S said something to me today about it. :) I have been so busy getting the kids ready for school and babysitting my beautiful neice!
Since I last posted I have finished my crafting area! I am excited to work more on my jewerly. I have also decided to expand a little past jewerly and go to a few other crafts I enjoy. For example... I recently decorated my daughter a really cute pair of shoes. I was looking for a cool, different pair of shoes to go with my daughters new school clothes. I couldn't quite find what I was looking for at least not within a reasonable price range so I decided to buy plain white ones and decorate them. I loved the way they turned out.
I haven't created much more in the way of new jewerly but I have been looking up new designs ideas and trying to expand my knowledge on jewerly making! I am excited and hope to soon have more creative ideas and products.
In closing I am going to share my Gem and Jewels for today:
Gem: My hubby of course for helping me (he built be a wonderful shelf for my crafting space) and supporting me in every way! My children for being themselfs and loving me unconditionally! My friend S for helping to motivate me to create and sell my jewerly!!
Jewel: No new jewelry or beads to talk about but I am working hard to learn new techniques for new jewerly!
Gems and Jewels
This is actually my first real blog! I am going to try and post weekly... maybe even daily. I hope to use it for many things from my jewelry making accomplishments to my family and friends. I am also hoping it will be a little bit of a stress reliever too.

A Space for Me!
I finally have a crafting place all for me! The basement, or at least part of it, will now be home to all my beads and crafting items. I have been trying to cut down on our household clutter for awhile now. I am finally done! After next week's yard sale I will be able to use my crafting table ( a drafting table I found for free!) and get busy making jewerly to sell.
I have also decided that I am going to have to have a major bead shopping trip. I have tons but just not enough to go together and create something spectacular! I also have to start working on stuff about 6 months early. My spring line needs to be made in the fall... Winter in the summer... and so on.
I would love to attend a jewerly making class. The hard part will be finding one in my area. Living in a small town doesn't help for things like this. It also limits the bead buying unless I shop online but for me I love the physical part of shopping... the walking and browsing. Can't do that for online shopping. :)
In closing I am going to share my Gem and Jewels for today:
Gem: My grandma Patsy, I learned a lot from her growing up and I think I got my crafting abilty from her. I know I didn't get it from my mom (Mom's ability is limited to sewing a button on a shirt)
Jewel: No new jewelry or beads to talk about but I am excited for a place to finally make this happen!

Day 1: The start of something new
I really need to either work harder at making and selling my jewerly or get a part-time job. My hubby is the best for supporting our family while I stay home to take care of the children but with the kids getting older, I would like to do more to help support our family.
I really need to make some decisions about what I want to do. My true dream would be to own a business. What kind of business is the question. I love to make things but sometimes I question my ability to be creative and make things that people would buy. I guess that comes from not getting a lot of praise as a child. I am trying to over come that small problem that is holding me back.
I also love to bake but only cookies. Not really a fan of baking cakes and pies. Don't get me wrong I love to eat cakes and pies just don't like to make them. I know if I had a job baking I would love it but I would also eat a lot of cookies that I really don't need.
My other option is going back to college... but for what? What do I want to be when I grow up so to speak. I have an associates degree in accounting and while I did really well in school I didn't love doing it. My mother is a little disapointed that I didn't do anything with my degree. Instead I got pregnant with twins and decided it would be better for the babies and (in the end) cheaper to stay home.
I am at the point where if I am going to get a job and have it for the rest of my life I need to have one I love. I can not do another one that I hate.
In closing I am going to share my Gem and Jewels for today:
My Gem (person who affected my today or this past week): My Good friend Sarah! So happy we got to go shopping together today. :)
I also feel like adding a lifetime Gem: My husband. He is amazing and treats me like a queen. I feel like the luckiest woman in the world to have him in my life.
My Jewel (Jewelry making) I bought some very awesome blue and clear crystals today. (thanks Sarah for pointing them out) I am hoping to make a beautiful bracelet with them soon.
